It would be impossible for me to give up writing, writing is my voice.
I discovered my passion for writing when I was in junior high first starting off writing fan fictions about Harry Potter like every other nerdy teen to developing my own characters and story lines. As I went into college I wanted to find a degree that would be beneficial for myself in the future but would also utilize my passion for telling a story, so therefore I turned to Journalism. Journalism may not be more about the literature aspect of writing but this field has opened up doors to new opportunities I soon came to enjoy.
During my time as a Journalism student I have received an Honorable Mention for my Critical Review at the 2012 Texas Intercollegiate Press Association Conference.
I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas a city of potential stuck in a runt but is now finally taking it’s steps to evolving with the rest of society. Living where ever you were born and raised the scene can become quite tiresome and you ever-so wish to leave and find somewhere. Now that I have obtained my Associates Degree, the first stepping stone to my future I can seek for that place of opportunities and adventures that wait beyond its borders.
I have worked with the Foghorn News at Del Mar College as the Web Editor. I controlled and created content that was to go onto the website and social media networks. Though this was my titled position with the news company my job still entitled the responsibilities as a reporter where I looked for my own story, found my own sources and wrote the article; as a photographer I obtained art work for my stories as well as the stories of the page I was designing for the print paper.
Before working for The Foghorn I landed my first job at The Childrens Place in 2008. I am truly grateful for finding this job as it has allowed me to meet several individuals that have been supportive through my education the three years I have worked there. Here I learned of team work, responsibility and long and tiring nights.
When I am not working and I can find the time to relax I go to the movie theater to check out the latest film if I can break myself away from Netflix (not advertising for them I just a big fan). I also love attending local shows and touring concerts. I am really involved with the art scene in my city attending the Corpus Christi Art Walk and art shows, theater plays, music shows, festivals and even the burlesque scene.
I also attend anime, science fiction, pop culture and steampunk festivals throughout Texas, these conventions are a break away from the stressful life of reality. I love dressing up as your favorite character or a character of your own and coming together to meet and have a good time with a diverse number of individuals to appreciate the art of the conventions.

When I was young and even now people would ask me who my favorite super hero was, I would tell them Batman proudly. They would then look at me with crazy eyes like out of all super heroes you choose the one with no superpowers? My answer would always be that Batman is the best super hero because he was the hero of the night that beat criminals down to their knees without the help of any mutant super powers. Yes I know Batman has help from his advanced and super cool weapons, but it takes skills and strength to successfully use those weapons to its full potential.
Batman may be one handsome devil inside a suit, but even outside of the suit he is a man who is not rendered helpless, still able to take out an enemy with no help of a weapon unlike some sadistic billionaires *cough* Tony Stark. Continue reading →
