Hello I’m The Doctor

One of the greatest television series has captured the hearts of generations with the words “I’m the doctor!” Different faces and voices come to mind when we hear these very words. Since the black and white films of the Doctor Who series, baby boomers and others sat anticipating the episodes of the Doctor. The Doctor has regenerated its way through generations to the very present day with the eleventh doctor played by Matt Smith.

For those who are unfamiliar with Doctor Who, Doctor Who is a BBC television series about a time lord known as the Doctor who travels through time and space in his Tardis, a time traveling machine disguised as a sixty’s British Police Box. Through his time travel the doctor faces many obstacles and foes fighting to protect the universe alongside his traveling partners. Viewing the adventures from the other side of the screen you so desperately kept your mind alert for the humming sound of the Tardis.

Today’s generation has come to fall in love with the most recent three reincarnations of the Doctor starring Christopher Eccleston as the 9th Doctor, David Tennant as the 10th and Matt Smith as the 11th incarnation. Fans have fallen in and out of love with the three doctors stirring controversy over who is the better Doctor, though in fact they are playing the same character.

Every doctor from the very first to the most recent has brought their own aspect of the Doctor that fans have grown to love and adore. I don’t believe it is that one actor played the Doctor better than the other, but the different phases of the Doctors life is called for certain personalities and I believe of the recent three they exterminated with a precision that left fans gasping for more.

Chris Eccleston playing the 9th incarnation of the doctor and his new partnership with Rose Tyler was the beginning of a story that developed into an unknown territory of emotions. Both partners looking for some excitement in their lives to fill that missing void, found a friendship within each other that developed into a deeper bond with each Dalek destroyed and planet saved. As the story of the two prolonged this unrecognized emotion began to surface until finally all was out in the open with the incoming incarnation of the 10th Doctor. Oh yes a young, handsome and comical Doctor played by David Tennant.

The innocent relationship between The Doctor and Rose spiraled into an escalation of uneventful time travel and romance. While Rose was falling in love with the 10th incarnation so were the fans. David Tennant brought this outlandish personality that people may find to be ludicrous, but in fact he was a genius time lord capable of the most unbelievable things.  Much like the 9th incarnation, The 10th Doctor was this comical character with a melting pot of emotions that left you grinning from ear to ear.

Fans fall in love with their Doctor, but they know at any time the rug can be tugged from under their feet leaving them to gaze upon a goofy character in a bow tie calling himself the Doctor. The appearance of the 11th Doctor left many fans excited for the rebooting of the show, but also weary with the knowledge that their beloved Doctor has been reincarnated…again.

Through the seasons of the 11th Doctor fans were seeing another side of the Doctor they have always known was there, but was something he was coming to finally recognize…his own loneliness.  The story and life of the Doctor revolves around the single life of a girl named Amelia Pond played by Karen Gillan. Here the all-knowing Doctor comes to find that there is something his genius mind that he doesn’t even know. Time traveling once a fun hobby has become a mission, and all the questions and speculations about who is the Doctor is finally coming to light. The story revolving around the 11th Doctor is the reason I have also fallen for this Doctor, what can I say he doesn’t look that bad in a bow tie either.

Now the man of the hour is back with the seventh season of Doctor Who and the ending of Amelia Pond’s travels alongside her Raggedy Doctor.  Check out the Season 7 trailer below and don’t forget subscribe and like.
